Christingle Service

2nd December 2016

It was fantastic to see so many families at our Christingle Service. The Upper Juniors led the assembly and explained how each part of the Christingle has a special Christian meaning. The orange represents the world, the red tape symbolises the love of Christ, the sweets and dried fruit represent all of God’s creations while the lit candle is Jesus’s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.

The children, including those who attend Krakatoa Pre-school, then stood very still at the front of the church with their lighted Christingles while parents took photographs.

Thank you to Dawn Seston, Claire and Ray Nicholson, and Ernestine for helping the children make their Christingles the day before.
